Woman arrested for killing husband with hammer, body found near pond
Janjgir-Champa: In the district, handicapped Manoj Nat was murdered by his wife Anju Nat. It is being told that the husband used to fight after drinking alcohol every day, due to which Anju Nat got upset and killed him by hitting him with a hammer and slitting his throat with a knife. The incident is from Pamgarh police station area.
Actually, Manoj Kumar lived with his wife and children in a slum near the pond. Manoj and his family used to make a living by begging. On Saturday morning, his body was found some distance from the house. There were also blood marks around.
In the case, the police said that the wife of the deceased Manoj Kumar was under suspicion, after which the police detained the woman for questioning. The woman cannot speak or hear, so a hearing impaired specialist was called. Hearing impaired specialist Ramayan Kurre questioned the woman in sign language.
During this, the wife of the deceased told that Manoj Nat had brought alcohol on the evening of July 12. He fell asleep after drinking alcohol, but after waking up at night, he started beating his wife. During this, the wife took him out. After pushing him down near the pond, he attacked his head with a hammer 3 times. Due to this, he became unconscious. The woman came back to the house and took a knife and went to the pond, where she slit his throat. After this, the wife dragged the body and threw it on the shore of the pond. The weapons used in the incident, knife and hammer, have been recovered. Hearing impaired expert Ramayan Kurre said that the woman has confessed to the crime.
