In September last year, an Anganwadi worker was reportedly found hanging under mysterious circumstances inside the Maharajpur Anganwadi center under Khantapada police station limits in Odisha’s Balasore district. The deceased has been identified as Pragyan Parmita Das. Family members of the 23-year-old Anganwadi worker found her hanging inside the Maharajpur Anganwadi center this morning. Soon, they took him to Khantapada Community Health Center (CHC) for treatment. However, the doctors who treated him at the CHC declared him dead.
As soon as the doctor announced Pragyan’s death, his family members created a ruckus, leading to tension in the CHC. She alleged that she was murdered by her husband Bismit Ranjan Das and in-laws, who used to torture her.
After receiving the information, a police team from Khantapada police station reached the hospital and controlled the situation by pacifying the angry family members of the deceased woman. Along with sending Pragyan’s body for postmortem, they have also started investigating the case. They are interrogating her family members and husband to get some clues in the case.
