Woman dies due to lack of ICU, private hospital accused of negligence
Ambikapur. There has been a serious allegation against a private hospital in the city. It is alleged that a woman lost her life due to their negligence. The hospital did open surgery without any arrangement and in the absence of ICU, the woman came close to death.
The victim’s family alleges that a woman named Mamta Agarwal was admitted to a private Ashirwad hospital in the city after she had stones in her gallbladder. The hospital management had advised to operate the woman with laser method, the relatives agreed for this operation. But instead of laser operation, the doctors did open surgery of the woman. Shortly after the surgery, the health of the woman started deteriorating. The hospital did not even have an ICU facility and the woman could not get better treatment immediately. In such a situation, the relatives took the victim woman in critical condition to another private Gayatri Hospital in the city. Here the doctors told that the woman’s pulse is not working and her brain is also dead.
Relatives have complained that the doctors of Gayatri Hospital admitted the brain dead patient to the ICU and after treatment for a few hours, the hospital management declared the woman dead. The family alleges that the woman died due to the gross negligence of the doctors. The relatives raised questions on the private hospital management. He says that when there was no facility of ICU in the hospital, then on what basis the open surgery of the woman was done. The relatives are shocked by the death of the woman. The complaint has been made in the Gandhinagar police station. Relatives are demanding investigation and action against the private hospital.
