Woman shot dead outside school in Manipur

Imphal (IANS). Unidentified gunmen shot dead a woman outside a school in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Thursday. According to officials, the woman was shot when she had come to the Shishu Niketan school in Mayikoibi to drop off her child.

Police and forensic team immediately reached the area and recovered the body.

Eyewitnesses told that the armed miscreants opened fire on the woman as the victim’s child entered the school premises.

As many as 4,521 schools from classes 1 to 8 opened on Wednesday, more than two months after the violence that broke out in the state on May 3. This incident happened only a day after this.
