Woman throws acid on dog, police registers case

Mumbai (IANS). A shocking incident has come to light from Mumbai. A woman threw acid on a stray dog in Malvani area of the city. Due to which the dog was seriously scorched and lost one of its eyes. This incident is of 17 August.

Thirty-five-year-old Sabista Ansari is accused of acid attack. It is said that the woman feeds the cats. The dog was doing something like talking to cats.

The incident was captured in the CCTV footage. The footage showed Sabista Ansari allegedly throwing acid on the dog. Due to which the dog started running hither and thither in pain.

The incident was captured in the CCTV installed inside the housing society. On coming to know about this, TV actress Jaya Bhattacharya and her team came forward to save the dog (Brownie).

The brownie was taken to Jaya Bhattacharya’s NGO ‘Thank You Earth’, which rescues and treats animals in need.

Jaya Bhattacharya revealed that she immediately reported the incident to the police along with a doctor’s certificate detailing Brownie’s injuries.

Jaya Bhattacharya said that it is shocking that a person who feeds cats attacks another animal.

Malvani police have registered a case against Sabista Ansari.

Balasaheb Tukaram Bhagat, a resident of the housing society, in his complaint detailed the brownie’s presence and how Sabista Ansari used to drive the dog away while interacting with the cats she used to feed.
