Bilaspur: An inter-state gang involved in fraud on Shaadi.com has been exposed in the district. Police have arrested three people of interstate gang including two women. He had cheated a woman of Rs 20 lakh in the name of getting married and opening a hospital in Bilaspur. Rs 30 lakh has been held from the accounts of the accused. The team of Range Cyber Police Station and Cyber Cell Bilaspur took joint action and caught all three.

According to the information received, Kavita Vishwakarma, a resident of Ameri of Sakri police station area, was the victim of fraud. Kavita Vishwakarma had lodged a report at Sakri police station that she had given her phone number on the Vivah.com website. First a message came on his mobile phone number. Then the person sending the message talked and got to know each other better. On the pretext of opening a hospital in Bilaspur, he got Rs 20 lakh 18 thousand 555 transferred to his various accounts between August 9 and August 26. Meanwhile, a person calling himself a customs officer also threatened him. Suspecting fraud, she approached the police. Starting the investigation of the complaint, the cyber police collected information about the concerned bank accounts. The address of the accused was found to be Delhi. After this, a police team was prepared and sent to Delhi. Here the police detained three people including two women. These included Ravi Singh Gautam, Harpreet Kaur and Simran Rai.
