Women’s World Boxing: India’s Neetu becomes world champion

New Delhi (IANS) | India’s Neetu Ghanghas (48kg) defeated two-time Asian Championship bronze medalist Lutsekhan Altantseg of Mongolia 5-0 in front of a packed IG Stadium on Saturday to become the world champion.

Both the boxers started the bout aggressively but it was the Indian boxer who landed punches in the face of the Mongolian boxer and won the first round 5-0.

The second round was a close one but Neetu managed to win it 3-2.

In the third round, Neetu played smartly and won the gold medal.

Neetu continued to dominate throughout the tournament. He has won three bouts via referee stop contest (RSC) decisions.
