Work started at government level for canal expansion of Sutiyapath reservoir

Kawardha. After becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Kawardha MLA Vijay Sharma has stepped forward at the state government level to fulfill the promise made to the people of Kabirdham district. Deputy CM Sharma had promised the farmers of the area to expand the canal of the much awaited demand Sutiyapath reservoir in Kabirdham district. To fulfill this promise, as soon as he assumed office, he held a meeting of senior officers of the Water Resources Department at the state level. In the meeting, he gave instructions to quickly conduct a survey and present an action plan for the canal expansion of Sutiyapath reservoir.

On the instructions of Deputy CM Sharma, Secretary of Water Resources Department, Anbalagan P., the departmental team inspected the proposed irrigation schemes under Kabirdham district. Departmental officials said that survey work has been started for the canal expansion of Sutiyapath reservoir. In this survey, thousands of farmers from more than 24 villages of the area will get irrigation facilities. This was a much-awaited demand of the district. Enthusiasm is being seen among the farmers of the area after the survey work of Sutiyapath Canal expansion has started.

The departmental officer said that for expanding the canal of left bank of Sutiyapath reservoir, villages Khajarkala, Bamhantola, Sylhati, Vicharpur, Dalsatola, Singarpur, Dhodhama Navapara, Suktra, Bajguda, Daihandih, Khairbana, Dalsatola, Navaghata, Rengatola, Ranjitpur, Patpar, Dongria, Ranveerpur, Virendranagar, Tilaibhat, Ramhepura, Manpur, Lakhanpur, Jamunia have been included in the initial survey. Presently 24 villages are included, more nearby villages can also be included in the survey, for this, survey and testing work has been started on departmental instructions.

On the instructions of Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, special emphasis was given to provide benefits to the farmers for Rabi crop from Sutiyapath Reservoir. The canal expansion site was inspected. Along with this, the Secretary visited the proposed new Jagmadwa Reservoir Scheme and Barodakhurd Reservoir Scheme site of the district and took all the information about the site. In which, mainly to resolve the issues related to land acquisition, diversion of forest land and delays in its processes in a timely manner on priority basis, necessary guidelines were given to the work agencies to work on the prescribed parameters and plans were made. Complete information was given by the Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer.
