World Cadet Championship: Sports Ministry will fund the Indian Judo team
New Delhi (IANS). The Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) will fund the participation of the Indian Judo team in the upcoming Judo World Cadet Championships to be held in Zagreb, Croatia from August 21 to 27.
A media release said that the funding will cover the boarding/accommodation cost of the 20-member team, airfare, visa cost and out-of-pocket allowance (OPA) among other expenses.
Indian judoka Linthoi Chanbam won the gold medal in 57kg in the 2022 edition of the tournament.
The squad for this year’s championships consists of 16 athletes and four coaches:

Women’s Team: Maya – 40kg, Yuvika Tokas – 44kg, Shivani Gochar – 48kg, L. Nungshithoi – 52kg, Nikita – 57kg, Linthoi Chanbam – 63kg, Deepapati Ng – -70kg, Kanwarpreet Kaur +70kg
Coaches: Jeevan Sharma, Ranbir Solanki, Divya, Ritu
