Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will have a bigger battery, thinner and lighter body

Xiaomi is planning to launch a successor to its foldable smartphone Xiaomi Mix Flip. Expected to be called the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, the device has garnered a lot of attention ahead of its launch.

Leaked reports have also revealed that the Mix Flip 2 will come with major upgrades over Xiaomi’s current foldable phone. According to a new rumour, the Mix Flip 2 will come with a bigger battery, and will feature a thinner and lighter body.

A tipster has revealed via ExPost that the Mix Flip 2 will feature a 5,600 to 5,700mAh battery. This is a significant (and very welcome) improvement over the 4,780mAh cell of the original Mix Flip.

The Flip 2 is also said to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. For comparison, note that the Mix Flip is 7.6mm thick when opened and 16mm thick when folded, and weighs 190 grams or 192 grams depending on the variant.

Just like the original version, the Mix Flip 2 will be sold worldwide, not just in China. We’ll let you know when we have more details, but so far it certainly looks like a pretty good sequel.
