Yogi government will change 115 year old law
Uttar Pradesh. A 115 year old law is going to be changed in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government has decided to remove Urdu-Persian words from the registry documents. Hindi language will replace Urdu-Persian in the registry. The Stamp and Registration Department runs under the Registration Act made in 1908. It is being claimed that after the amendment in the Registration Act, the language of registry will become easier. With the new rule, the requirement of passing the Urdu-Persian test for appointment in the Stamp and Registration Department will also be abolished.
The use of Urdu-Persian language was encouraged more in the Registration Act. Sub-Registrar in the Stamp and Registration Department was appointed by the Public Service Commission. After passing the Public Service Commission examination, the Sub Registrar also had to pass an examination of Urdu Typography. It was mandatory for the sub-registrar to write, speak, translate Urdu words correctly and understand them with correct grammar. Without passing the Urdu Typing test, the job of Sub Registrar was not considered permanent.
The probation period of Sub Registrar was also two years. At present, Hindi and English languages have started being used apart from Urdu and Persian words. Seeing that the understanding of Urdu and Persian words is gradually waning in the new generation, a change is about to take place as per the instructions of the Supreme Court. Stamp and Registration Fee Minister Ravindra Jaiswal said that the present generation is facing a lot of difficulties in understanding the complex words of Urdu and Persian. Nowadays, most of the people are using Hindi and English language.
Without passing the Urdu typing test, the problems of the sub-registrar were increasing. Now the examination of computer knowledge has become important. Therefore, a decision has to be taken to remove the test of Urdu Typography and test computer knowledge. The effect of the change will also be visible in the registry and Hindi will be used more in normal work. Changes will also be made in the Registration Act. He cited the instructions of the Supreme Court. He said that due to the simple language of the documents, the common man will be able to understand, read and use it. Therefore it has been decided to make changes.
