You can complain about violation of code of conduct through C-Vigil app

Sarangarh-Bilaigarh: To increase citizen participation and accountability in ensuring free and fair elections, the Election Commission of India has also brought C-ViGil mobile app in the Assembly Elections-2023. Through this app, any person can lodge a complaint about activities or incidents violating the Model Code of Conduct within a few minutes. For this now he will not need to come to the election officer’s office. In case of complaints of violation of Model Code of Conduct so far in the district, timely action will be taken. On receiving the complaint on C-Vigil mobile app, Flying Squad (FST) will immediately reach the spot and take necessary action.

Every complaint received through this app will be processed within 100 minutes. In this, complainants can complain about distribution of liquor, money or violation of code of conduct on C-VIGIL app. In this the name of the complainant will be kept confidential. Action will be taken on the complaint within 100 minutes. Photo will have to be uploaded on the app. The complainant will not even need to write where he is. That means voters can also monitor elections through this app. Through the app, voters can also send the location of the place where the disturbance is taking place along with photos and videos and can provide complete information by writing.

This is how this app works

This app is available on both Android and iOS platforms. Android users can download it from Google Play Store and Apple users can download it from App Store. Upon installation it asks for permissions to access camera, location and audio and files. After this, there is an option to choose the language where you can select Hindi or English language. After this you will have to write the phone number, on which an OTP will come. After entering the OTP, you will have to provide information about your name, address, state, district, assembly constituency and pin code. After giving this information you will have to click on Verify. After this the home page of the app will open, where you will get the options of photo, video and audio. You can inform the Commission about the irregularities by choosing the option through which you want to lodge your complaint.
