Young football player dies due to electric shock
Guwahati: In a heart-wrenching incident that has created a pall of grief at Jagiroad in Morigaon district of Assam, a young and promising district-level football player met a tragic end as he died of electrocution on Monday. . The victim has been identified as Dhanjeet Boro, 23, who was a resident of Jagiroad and was known for his football skills in the area.
The unfortunate incident came to light when Dhanjeet was trying to charge his mobile phone inside his house. During this routine work a sudden and fatal electrical accident occurred, resulting in his untimely death. Preliminary information suggests that a short circuit in the electrical system was the cause of this catastrophic accident.

Following this tragedy, allegations have emerged against the local electricity board regarding transmission of high-voltage electricity in the area. Troubled local people have also come forward and said that this unfortunate incident is not an isolated incident. Many incidents in the region have been attributed to issues related to high-voltage power supplies, raising concerns about the safety of electrical infrastructure in the region.

Early last month, Jagiroad police, with the assistance of SDRF, had recovered the body of a schoolboy from a ditch at Kakorjhola under Jagiroad PS on Wednesday. The deceased was later identified as Sahabul Haq, a class five student and son of Noor Islam of the village. Sources said that three students had gone to a nearby pit to take bath. However, Sahabul Haq reportedly went missing and his body was later recovered. Police sends dead body for post-mortem.
