Young man dies after falling from scooter
Margao: Sangharsh Loliankar, 24, a resident of Canacona, died when his scooter got stuck in the mud and concrete allegedly left on the road due to ongoing road work near Margao.
Police have registered the case as ‘suicide-accident’. The accident occurred when Loliankar, who worked in Varna, was returning home from work at around 8.30 pm. Police sources said his scooter got stuck in a dug-up portion of the road in the area under the jurisdiction of Colva police. The young man fell from the scooter and suffered serious injuries on his chest apart from breaking his ribs. Due to road infrastructure work, the road in question was made one-way for traffic. Head constable Sandesh Gadkar said Loliankar was initially taken to South Goa District Hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to the Goa Medical College Hospital in Bambolim, where he succumbed to his injuries.
