Young man kidnapped and murdered, body recovered from forest, two arrested

Ranchi: In Ranchi’s Budhmu police station area, 25-year-old Ajay Mahato was kidnapped and murdered and his body was thrown in the forest near Zikra Falls. Revealing the incident that took place on Wednesday night within 12 hours, the police arrested two accused. According to the police, the accused have also confessed to the crime. Ranchi’s rural SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal told in a press conference on Thursday that the arrested accused include Jagdish Munda and Krishna Mahato. Jagdish Munda has said in his statement to the police that Ajay Mahato used to harass his wife. If he protested, he would threaten to kill the entire family. That is why he planned to kidnap and murder Ajay Mahato. The deceased Ajay Mahato was a resident of Bedwari village of the same police station area. The accused kidnapped him from Ojhasadam village and took him to the forest on a bike. There Ajay was killed by hitting with sharp weapons and stones and the body was thrown near Zikra Falls. On the identification of the accused, the police recovered the body on Thursday. The motorcycle used in the crime has also been seized. The police team led by Khalari DSP Ramnarayan Chaudhary played an important role in solving the case and arresting the accused.
