Young man selling liquor on scooter arrested
Raipur. Police have arrested a liquor seller on a scooter in Gudhiyari police station area of the capital. Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has directed all the police gazetted officers, station in-charges including in-charge anti-crime and cyber units to stop liquor smuggling and also to investigate and take action against people buying and selling liquor illegally. . In view of which, all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police and in-charge ACCU. Along with collecting information in this regard, police station in-charges are also collecting information through other means along with appointing informers. In this sequence, the team of Gudhiyari police station received information that a person riding a two-wheeler had liquor with him. Khalbada is coming towards Gudhiyari from Telghani Naka.
On which the two-wheeler mentioned by the informer was identified and caught by the Gudhiyari police team under the direction of senior officers and under the leadership of police station in-charge Gudhiyari near Khalbada Gudhiyari. During interrogation, the person revealed his name to be Vijay Baghel Gudhiyari. When the team members searched the two-wheeler, it was found that liquor was kept in the vehicle. When the team members demanded valid documents from the accused Vijay Baghel regarding the keeping/transportation of liquor, he was continuously trying to mislead the team members by not presenting any kind of document. On which the accused Vijay Baghel was arrested and 33 pauvas of country liquor worth about Rs 4,000/- and the two-wheeler Activa serial number CG/07/LT/9499 used in transporting liquor were seized from his possession. Crime 481/ was registered against the accused in police station Gudhiyari. 23 Action was taken under Section 34(2) Excise Act.
