Youth arrested for selling intoxicating syrup in Lakhenagar Eidgahbhatha
Raipur: Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal has directed the police station in-charge along with the in-charge Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit to take action against illegal buying and selling of banned intoxicating tablets/syrup and identifying the people involved in this business illegally. On which the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit team including all the police gazetted officers and station in-charges prepared an action plan to effectively curb it, engaged informers and collected information about illegal drug tablet/syrup business by continuously patrolling and collecting information. In this series, the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a person has kept banned intoxicating syrup behind the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple located in Lakhenagar Idgahbhatha under Azad Chowk police station area and is planning to sell it. Additional Superintendent of Police West Jai Prakash Carpenter, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Pitambar Patel, City Superintendent of Police Azad Chowk Mayank Gurjar (B.P.S.) and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Dinesh Sinha in charge of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Police Station Incharge Azad Chowk. After verifying the information, he was directed to catch the accused red handed with the banned intoxicating syrup. On which the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Azad Chowk police station went to the said place and identified and arrested a person of the description described by the informer. During interrogation, the name of the person was revealed to be Avesh Beg alias Pandey, resident of Azad Chowk Raipur. When the team members searched the bag he was carrying, it was found that the bag contained the banned narcotic syrup Codeine. When the accused was asked to produce valid documents or other documents in connection with the possession of the said banned intoxicating syrup, an attempt was being made to mislead the team members by not presenting any valid documents or papers of any kind. On which accused Avesh Beg alias Pandey was arrested and a total of 22 vials of banned narcotic syrup Codeine worth about Rs 5,000/- were seized from his possession. Crime number 302/23 Section 21(C) of Narcotics Act was registered against the accused in police station Azad Chowk. Tax action was taken. The accused Avesh Beg alias Pandey is of criminal nature, who has been jailed in the past in cases of attempt to murder, Arms Act, assault and other restrictive sections.
