Youth arrested in kidnapping of 16-year-old girl
Raipur. The Thrissur police arrested a youth from Chhattisgarh for kidnapping a 16-year-old girl from the custody of child welfare officials. On Thursday, a young man escaped from Thrissur railway station after taking the minor girl from the custody of child line officials. On Saturday, the police arrested the youth on the National Highway at Amballur near Pudukkad and recovered the minor.
Arrested 20-year-old Deepak Kumar told that the friendship between the two happened through social media. Deepak Kumar got off the train in Thrissur on Wednesday night with his 16-year-old Facebook friend. Seeing him in suspicious condition at the railway station, the railway employees got suspicious. When the matter reached the station master, the child line was informed. Child Line officials reached the railway station late at night. Deepak had an Aadhaar card, but the girl did not have any identity document.
Both the accused Deepak and the minor girl are residents of Chhattisgarh. When Child Line officials contacted the girl’s parents, they came to know that the girl had left her home five days back. The family members have also lodged a missing case.
