Youth Congress says- Party workers beaten for showing black flags to CM’s convoy
Kannur (ANI): Youth Congress workers were beaten up for showing black flags at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy at Pazhayangady in Eripuram on Monday.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan was visiting his home district today as part of Navakerala Sadas, an outreach program of the government, when Youth Congress workers showed black flags.
Youth Congress workers alleged that CPIM workers stopped the workers, leading to a scuffle.
Sudheesh Vellachal suffered head injuries as the attackers used flower pots and helmets in the fight.
The injured workers were later admitted to a private hospital in Thalaiparam.
Along with this, KSU and Youth Congress leaders were taken into custody before the Chief Minister’s “Nav Kerala Yatra”.
A video showed Youth Congress workers waving black flags at the CM’s convoy following which the mob attacked them.
“Nava Kerala Sadasu” is an outreach program of the government, where the Chief Minister and Ministers will travel to all the assembly constituencies of the state. (ANI)
