Youth dies due to bee attack

Guwahati : One person was killed and another injured in a swarm of bees in Assam’s Tamulpur district on Sunday. This incident took place in Nagrijuli area of the district. The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Sobiram Boro. The deceased worked as an office assistant in Nagrijuli High School. According to the police, the incident occurred when Sobiram Boro and another man were out for their usual morning walk towards the Bornadi river. Local people said that as soon as they reached the river bank, a swarm of bees surrounded both of them.

Boro’s companion jumped into the water and was able to save his life, but sustained some injuries. Boro was unable to escape the attack, and within seconds, more than 500 bees stung him all over his body, rendering him unconscious. After this he was immediately taken to Nagarijuli Hospital. But as his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to another hospital for better treatment, but Boro died on the way. Meanwhile, the other person is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
