Youth dies in bike accident in Balasore, locals protest and stage road blockade
Nilagiri: In a tragic incident, a youth died in an accident in Balasore district of Odisha on Tuesday said reports. The bike was hit by an oil tanker, reports further added.
There was tension on the spot post the accident. The bike rider was killed in an alleged oil tanker collision. The deceased youth has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar Behera of Dahisoda area.
Post the accident, the locals were highly agitated, they demanded compensation and staged a road blockade. The accident took place near the Bhalukakandi intersection of the State Highway No. 19 in Balasore. The agitated people blocked the Nilagiri-Udala National Highway with the dead body.
The Nilagiri police seized the oil tanker and moved it off the road after negotiating with the locals. Although the road work has been going on since a long time, it has not been completed yet. As a result, people are facing several and frequent accidents.
