Zomato will charge platform fee, know how much the company is charging on each order
New Delhi: Zomato is a food delivery platform, now ordering food on it will be expensive. Actually, charging fees has started on Zomato. However, its testing has just started and it is working for some users. Earlier in the month of April, Zomato’s biggest rival Swiggy also started taking charge.
Zomato will charge a charge of Rs 2 on each order. However, it will not be affected by the value of the order. Not only this, users using the Zomato Gold program may also have to pay this charge.
Zomato’s Rs 2 platform fee is still in the experimental stage. This experiment can be seen by all the users in the coming time. If this step of the company is successful, then it will help the company to earn a lot of profit from it. The spokesperson of Zomato company has also said that it is currently in the experimental phase. It is not yet clear whether it will be implemented further or not.
The company’s platform fee move comes at a time when the company had recently reported that it posted a net profit of Rs 2 crore in the June quarter, compared to a loss of Rs 186 crore in the same quarter last year. According to the data shared by the company, Zomato’s revenue has also increased by about 71 percent on an annual basis in the quarter ending June 2023.
