Zoya Akhtar revealed! Why Agastya Nanda didn’t want to act in The Archies
Recently many new faces made their mark in the Indian film industry with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. While some of them have worked in front of the camera before, others were completely new to the process. In an interview, the filmmaker revealed that Agastya Nanda Kishore did not want to be a part of the musical film.
Zoya Akhtar was in conversation with The Free Press Journal, in which she talked about casting newcomers Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi ‘Dot’ Sehgal and Yuvraj Menda. He also revealed that Agastya was not interested in acting in The Archies.
Zoya said that she has a habit of handling actors. Hence, there was no pressure to handle the star kids. “Everyone knew it was a group of seven characters. Every character has a beginning, middle and end. They know what to accept. Agastya, Suhana and all others were auditioned. We wanted 17-year-old characters. Agastya did not want to act. He is in the business but we tested him and he came for the audition.
