4 more arrested for killing Hindu activist in Karnataka
Mysore (IANS). The Karnataka Police on Tuesday arrested four more accused in connection with the murder of a Hindu activist in the state.
The accused have been identified as Anil, Shankar, Manju and Harris. Sources said Shankar is the brother of the BJP leader, who is a member of the Mysore City Corporation. Earlier, the police had arrested Manikantha alias Kole Mani and Sandesh on Monday.
The BJP had attacked the Congress government over the matter and alleged that the killers were patronized by the ruling party. The BJP had formed a 10-member fact-finding committee regarding the massacre. National general secretary CT Ravi, former minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha, MLA Ravi Srivatsa are all part of the team.
During the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, a controversy erupted as the late Venugopal Nayak objected to late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s photograph being placed with Lord Hanuman.
The accused had conspired to kill Nayaka and on July 9, the accused called her for talks. He was murdered with a glass bottle. One of the accused was also seen in a photograph along with Social Welfare Minister Dr. HC Mahadevappa. Further investigation is on in the matter.
