Maharashtra government to hire 50,000 teachers for state schools

Maharashtra:The Maharashtra government has announced its decision to hire 50,000 teachers for state schools, according to School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar.

The recruitment will take place in two phases, with 30,000 posts filled in the initial phase and the remaining 20,000 in the subsequent phase. The process was delayed due to a stay order issued by the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court, but Kesarkar assured that recruitment will now commence as a government resolution will be issued to that effect.

To address the shortage of teachers in some schools and ensure minimal disruption to students, the education department has enlisted retired teachers on a contractual basis until the new recruits are hired. The appointed teachers will be assigned to Zilla Parishad schools and aided institutions, and the government also plans to introduce pre-primary classes in 17,000 schools across the state.
