
Korba. A group of 45 elephants is roaming in five different places in the Kudmura range of Korba forest division. Due to which there is an atmosphere of fear among the local villagers. The forest department is on alert mode due to the presence of such a large number of elephants. Forest department officials said that 35 elephants have been seen in two different herds in the Kudmura complex. Apart from this, the presence of 8 elephants in the Chachia complex and one elephant each in Lonar Gurma and Kalmitikra has been recorded.
The forest department has taken several steps to deal with the situation. Officers and employees are alerting the villagers by making announcements in the affected areas. Drone cameras are being used to monitor the activities of elephants.
The field staff is also giving information about every activity of the elephants to the officials. As soon as the elephants move towards the populated area, the forest department staff immediately reaches the spot and tries to drive away the elephants along with alerting the villagers.
