5 year old girl playing in front of house kidnapped and murdered, predator caught
Surat: The police has arrested the accused who shot and killed a five-year-old girl playing in front of her house in Bhaiyanagar, Punegam, on the pretext of giving her water to drink. The accused had kidnapped the girl with the intention of raping her.
Police caught the accused on the basis of CCTV footage. The accused told during police interrogation that he had seen the girl playing with the daughter of one of his acquaintances and knew her.
Parents reached the police after the girl went missing. A couple living in Punegam Bhaiyanagar area reached the Pune police station around 6 pm on Saturday evening and told the police that their daughter had gone to play outside the house at 2:30 pm.
He told the police that his five-year-old daughter had mysteriously gone missing. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the police had formed different teams to search for the girl. CCTV footage was also examined.
Accused is a native of Jharkhand: Police immediately started investigation. In which I am situated at some distance from him. M.F. On checking the CCTV outside the market, a young man was seen taking the girl away. Seeing the way this young man was walking, it seemed that he was drunk and the police became alert.
Accused caught, girl Hemkhem: Police formed different teams to reach the place where the accused was taking the girl and deployed more than 50 personnel to check the CCTV.
The kidnapped girl was also recovered safely from him. The 28-year-old accused Chhotu Ram Jitlal Rai, a native of Jharkhand, was still drunk when he was caught by the police. He kidnapped the girl on the pretext of giving her water.
