He said that the bus stand has been constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh. The work of providing all the facilities has been completed at a cost of Rs 400 crore.
He said, “Earlier the facility was planned to be opened 2-3 months ago. But, due to rain water flooding, the inauguration was postponed due to construction of storm drains. Those works have also been completed. “
Built on 86 acres of land, 2,310 buses including 40 omni buses will be operated every day. It is estimated that around 1 lakh people use the bus stand every day. Also, a suburban railway station and a skywalk have been planned to connect the bus stand.
“The bus stand was designed without proper planning during the previous government, which led to delays. The necessary infrastructure was created after the new government came to power,” he said.
