Former drugs inspector sentenced to 2 RIs and Rs 10,000 fine

Ganjam: Today Rabi Chandra Panda, former drugs inspector (retd) of Chhatrapur, Ganjam, was chargesheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case.

Conviction order was passed by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur under TR No. 32/2007 u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of the PC Act, 1988 for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs. . 16,12,881/-.

Panda was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance Berhampur and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a term of two years and to pay a fine of Rs 10,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to undergo additional rigorous imprisonment for 3 months. Offense under section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of the PC Act, 1988.

Odisha Vigilance will now approach the competent authority to stop the pension of former Drugs Inspector (Retd) Shri Rabi Chandra Panda after his conviction.
