Nitin Navin said—the message of victory will go out from Devbhoomi to the entire country.

Haldwani. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formally launched its election preparations for the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections. At an extended state executive committee meeting held in Haldwani, BJP National President Nitin Naveen conveyed a clear message to party workers regarding election goals and strategy. He stated that a message of victory would emanate from Uttarakhand—the ‘Devbhoomi’ (Land of Gods)—to the entire nation. While calling upon the party to gear up for the upcoming elections with full vigor, the National President also launched a scathing political attack on the Congress party.
Nitin Naveen remarked that for the BJP, Uttarakhand is not merely a state but a region of immense ideological and organizational significance. A BJP victory here would send a far-reaching political message. He urged party workers to strengthen the organization down to the booth level with the upcoming assembly elections in mind and to take the achievements of both the central and state governments to every household.
Addressing Challenges Alongside Election Goals
The National President also highlighted the challenges facing the party. He noted that electoral victory is not secured simply by being in power; rather, organizational strength and continuous dialogue with the public are essential. Every worker must understand their responsibility and remain active at the booth level.
He advised workers to respond to the opposition’s political propaganda and allegations with facts. He emphasized that the BJP must reach out to the public by showcasing the government’s performance and development initiatives. Workers were also encouraged to connect with beneficiaries of central and state government schemes and bring them into the fold of the party’s ideology.
Targeting Congress; Taking Aim at Kharge and Rahul Gandhi
The BJP President fiercely criticized the Congress party over the ‘purification’ (shuddhikaran) issue in Haldwani. He accused Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge of orchestrating a political conspiracy. Nitin Naveen stated that the Congress is attempting to stoke such issues for political gain.
He also targeted the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi. The BJP President alleged that Rahul Gandhi is trying to mislead the youth and vitiate the country’s atmosphere. He stated that Congress’s politics are increasingly moving towards fostering division, but the people of Uttarakhand will not accept such politics.
Nitin Navin remarked that Uttarakhand is defined by its culture, traditions, and commitment to the national interest. Targeting the Congress, he asserted that the identity and honor of ‘Devbhoomi’ (the Land of Gods) cannot be compromised by divisive politics.
Message to Convey the Dhami Government’s Achievements to the Public
During the state executive committee meeting, emphasis was placed on making the performance of the government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami a cornerstone of the election strategy. The party aims to go beyond mere publicity for government schemes and achievements, focusing instead on establishing direct communication with beneficiaries and the general public.
The BJP leadership believes that the decisions taken by the government in Uttarakhand can be effectively presented to the public as election issues. The party is likely to adopt a strategy that prioritizes subjects such as employment, investment, women’s empowerment, tourism, infrastructure, law and order, and state development.
Targeting ’60-Plus’ Seats in 2027
The BJP has set a target of winning more than 60 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. In the 2022 elections, the party secured 47 out of the 70 assembly seats. Consequently, to reach the ’60-plus’ mark, the party will need to significantly improve its performance compared to the previous election.
To this end, the BJP is focusing on the 23 assembly seats where it faced defeat in the last election. A strategy has been devised to deploy senior party leaders to strengthen the organization in these constituencies. The Chief Minister, state president, and core committee members will visit these areas to interact with local party workers and the public.
Special Emphasis on Strengthening Booths
The National President placed special emphasis on strengthening the booth level, which is considered the backbone of the organization. The party’s strategy involves activating booth committees well in advance of the elections and clearly defining the responsibilities of party workers at each booth.
For the BJP, the distinct political dynamics of the hill and plain regions in Uttarakhand are also significant factors. In hilly regions, issues such as migration, employment, healthcare, education, and road connectivity are crucial; conversely, in the plains, employment, law and order, urban development, and local concerns are likely to shape the electoral discourse.
A Winning Mantra for Party Workers
Nitin Navin urged party workers to remain constantly engaged with the public in the run-up to the elections. He emphasized the need for a strategy to counter opposition allegations through better coordination between the party organization and the government.
Through the extended state executive committee meeting in Haldwani, the BJP signaled that the 2027 Assembly elections have now become a key priority for the party. While the National President’s address galvanized the workers, his attacks on the Congress offered a glimpse into the likely political narrative of the upcoming elections.
The BJP is now moving to set the electoral stage by leveraging the government’s achievements, the organization’s strength, and political attacks on the opposition. However, achieving the ’60-plus’ target will not be easy for the party.
