Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the International Kite Festival in Ahmedabad on Sunday. On this occasion he also flew a kite. Expert kite flyer Gopal Patel said that since the festival has been promoted under Vibrant Gujarat, he has got the opportunity to travel to many different countries and showcase his kite flying skills. Kite flyer from Ahmedabad said

Kite making artisans mostly come from the Muslim community. In earlier years, only a few traders would come to the local artists to buy kites and sell them in the market. But since the Kite Festival started, people from abroad also started contacting him. These artisans nowadays work almost throughout the year. Historian Rizwan Qadri said that this kite festival has been celebrated in Gujarat for many years. Ghadri said, “The beauty of this festival is that neither age, nor religion nor discrimination of anything becomes a hindrance in celebrating this festival.”
