Karnataka: Man kills sister due to love affair, mother dies while trying to save him

Mysuru: In Mysuru, Karnataka, a man allegedly killed his sister over her love affair with a youth from another community. Reportedly, the siblings’ mother also died while trying to save the girl.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Nitin, had seen the deceased with her lover, identified as Dhanushree. Nitin had expressed his disagreement on his sister’s inter-religious relationship many times before. Enraged after seeing Dhanushree with her lover, Nithin allegedly pushed Dhanushree into a lake near Marur. Meanwhile, Dhanushree and Nitin’s mother Anita also jumped into the lake to save him, however, she also died by drowning in the reservoir.

After getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot, took the dead bodies into their custody and sent them for post-mortem. The police have also arrested Nitin and started investigating the case.
