Jammu and Kashmir: A massive fire broke out in the Gangera hills

Jammu and Kashmir: A massive forest fire is raging in the Gangera hills in Udhampur district. Amid rising temperatures, forest fires are being reported frequently in the region. According to a Times of India report, forest department officials have issued an urgent appeal to people, urging them to refrain from cooking in forest areas.

According to the report, Forest Department Block Officer Brahma Dutt Sharma said, “We have been trying to control the fire since morning. I cannot tell how much area the fire has covered. I appeal to people not to cook in the forest as it is harming our forest resources.”
