Kothagudem NEWS: Timely action by tourist boat operators saved a woman’s life

Kothagudem: The timely response of tourist boat operators saved the life of a married woman who attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the Kinnarsani reservoir at Paloncha in the district on Sunday.When a boat operator saw the woman jumping into the reservoir from above the sluice gate, the staff rushed to rescue her. Some boat operators jumped into the reservoir; with the help of a lifebuoy ring, she was pulled into the boat and brought to the shore.
The woman, Sunitha, a mother of two children hailing from Paloncha town, told the local police that she wanted to take her life due to family disputes. Later, the police called her husband Sanjeeva Reddy and counselled both of them. The police and locals appreciated the timely response of the tourist boat operators and their courageous act in saving the woman’s life.
