Woman policeman killed in accident, family alleges conspiracy
Guwahati (IANS) | Terming the death of Assam Police sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha as ‘mysterious’, the family has demanded a high-level probe.
The accident took place in Kaliabor area of Nagaon district.
According to locals, Rabha’s vehicle collided with a container truck on the national highway.
The vehicle was completely damaged due to the collision.
As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and admitted Rabha to Kaliabor Civil Hospital. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.
According to police sources, he was wearing plain clothes.
Meanwhile, Karuna Rabha, brother of the deceased policeman, said: My sister left home in Guwahati last night and told us she would go with her colleague Abha Rabha, but later we learned she was going alone. Abha claimed that she was not going with Junmoni.
Junmoni Rabha came into limelight last year when she broke off her engagement with her fiancee, who was accused of corruption.
Later, he was also accused of corruption, criminal conspiracy, cheating and was arrested.
He was granted bail by the sessions court.
