Dearness relief to pensioners: Madhya Pradesh’s consent awaited to implement Chhattisgarh Government’s decision

Raipur. The pensioners of Chhattisgarh are waiting for Madhya Pradesh’s consent to receive dearness relief. As per the announcement of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the process to provide 04 percent increase in dearness allowance to the retired government employees of Chhattisgarh has been commenced. As per the provisions of Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Act, Chhattisgarh government has written a letter to the Madhya Pradesh government for consent to expedite the speedy implementation of the announcement.

Presently, in consensus with Madhya Pradesh government, Dearness Relief amount is being paid at the rate of 38 percent on the pension payable to the retired government employees of the state from July 01, 2023. State government has decided to provide dearness relief at the rate of 42 percent from July 01, 2023. For this, the Finance Department has sent a letter on 02.08.2023 seeking consent from the Government of Madhya Pradesh under Section 49 of the Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Bill, 2000.
