Uttar Pradesh Safe City Project: 20 religious places in 9 cities will get pink booths in the first phase.
Lucknow . Under the Safe City Project, to ensure the safety of women and daughters across the state, the government had decided to provide three thousand pink booths and pink scooties to all 10417 women beats across the state.
In the first phase of the project, it was decided to construct pink booths at 20 religious places in nine cities of the state. Whereas, instructions were given to provide electric two-wheeler scooties to 1100 women beat constables in 17 Municipal Corporations and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
In the first phase, three months time was fixed for construction of pink booth and electric two-wheeler scooter. On this, the Women and Child Protection Organization has made a proposal and made it available to the government, as soon as it is approved, the work of implementing it will be started.
It is known that the Safe City project in the state is to be completed in three phases. In this, Gautam Buddha Nagar along with 17 municipal corporations are included in the first phase. In the second phase, 57 district headquarters municipalities and in the third phase, 143 municipalities will be connected to the Safe City project.
Women and Child Protection Organization’s ADG BP Jogdand said that in the first phase of the Safe City Project, pink booths will be constructed at 20 religious places in nine cities of the state. This includes Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Mathura, Gorakhpur, Agra, Balrampur and Chitrakoot.
He told that single story pink booths will be built everywhere. For this, a proposal of Rs 1.66 crore has been sent by the department to the Home Department. Along with this, a letter was written to the police officers of all the nine districts to identify the land for the pink booth and share the information, out of which reports have come from many districts.
ADG said that the construction work of the booth will be started as soon as the budget is released from the Home Department. In the second phase of the project, 501 pink booths will be built in the Municipal Corporation and Gautam Buddha Nagar of the state, while in the third phase, 2480 pink booths will be built in the remaining cities of the state.
