Illegal liquor worth Rs 2 lakh seized in Dhanbad

Ranchi: The Excise Department has again taken major action in Dhanbad. The Excise Department has once again caused huge loss to drug smugglers by taking action against those involved in the trade of spurious and illegal liquor. In this sequence, the Excise Department has conducted raids in Dhanbad Sadar Police Station area.

On Saturday, a house in Ranibandh Dhaiya was raided and 200 liters of fake beer and 100 liters of illicit liquor were seized. This illegal liquor was made in West Bengal. According to Assistant Excise Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Mehta, he had received information that Sandeep Gupta, resident of Dhaiya, is running an illegal liquor business. After which a team was formed and raids were conducted. Although the accused managed to escape by jumping over the wall, a huge quantity of liquor was seized from the spot.
