Australian Indian-origin woman killed in road accident in Sri Lanka

Colombo (IANS) | A 68-year-old Indian-origin Australian woman has died and her daughter was injured after her car fell off a cliff in Sri Lanka. Prakash Sharita Devi from Sydney was rushed to Gampola General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, Colombo Page reported. His daughter as well as the cab driver are undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the car was on its way from Gampola to Hemathgama when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to high speed and the car skidded off the road and fell down a cliff.
