Iron rod had passed through the old man’s body, doctors gave him new life like this

Kanpur: An iron rod passed through the body of an elderly man in Kanpur. Whoever saw this was stunned. Not only was it a big challenge to remove the rod below the right shoulder but it was also a big challenge to save the life of the old man. After hours of complicated surgery, Hallet’s doctors not only removed the rod but also saved his life.

According to the information, 65-year-old Alakh Prakash Khare, resident of Jalaun, was going from Prayagraj to Orai Roadways bus. His bus met with an accident at around 7 pm on Sunday evening near Vijay Nagar intersection. An iron rod of the bus entered rapidly under the right shoulder of Alakh Prakash and passed through it. Seeing this, the people traveling in the bus started making noise. The rod had crossed to such an extent that the elderly could not even sit or lie down. He was immediately brought to Halat in 108 ambulance. Then this information was given to Chief Superintendent Dr. RK Singh. He immediately informed this to the team of senior doctors of the hospital and asked everyone to reach the hospital. The team of doctors arrived within some time. Seeing the condition, first thought was given about referral, but the Chief Superintendent decided to perform the surgery here.

Before the cutter, the rod was cut, then before the surgery, the doctors cut the iron rod passing under the shoulder with the cutter. For this a person was called from outside. After this the operation was started. Dr. Priya Shukla, Dr. Premshankar, Dr. Neeraj, Dr. Swati, Dr. Yamini Rana, Dr. Anwar were involved in the surgery which started under the supervision of Dr. RK Singh. The surgery took about two hours. Principal Dr. Sanjay Kala expressed happiness over the achievement of the doctors.

Removing the iron rod inserted in the right shoulder of an elderly resident of Jalaun was no less than a big test for the doctors of Halat. While removing the iron rod, the challenge faced by the doctors was to ensure that there was no injury anywhere else. Besides, a lot of blood had already been lost. The doctors were trying their best to ensure that there was no further bleeding. For this, the doctors enlarged some part below the shoulder, where the rod had entered. The rod passed very close to the lungs i.e. adjacent to the membrane of the lungs. If the rod had hit the lungs, the situation would have been even worse. Now the old man has regained consciousness.

Chief Superintendent of Halat Hospital, Dr. R.K. Singh said that the condition of the elderly was bad. Doctors were successful in removing the iron rod through the body and saving his life. Now the condition of the elderly is out of danger.
