Air services affected by cyclone in Vizag, 23 flights canceled
Visakhapatnam: Due to the severe cyclonic storm Mihang in the Bay of Bengal, air operations at Visakhapatnam airport were affected on Tuesday, i.e. the authorities canceled 23 flights.
The airport director said that airlines have canceled flights due to bad weather. They have canceled flights to and from destinations like Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Chennai.
It has requested passengers to contact airlines to get more updates. Officials said the airport was operational for emergency services.

The entire Andhra Pradesh coast is on maximum alert in view of Michong, which will cross the coast near Bapatla on Tuesday evening.
The weather office has predicted strong winds at a speed of 90 to 100 kilometers per hour and gusting to 110 kilometers per hour in the area.
Officials said the sea was rough and a tsunami up to 1 to 1.5 meters high could hit the coast.
