The news is from Saharsa where a newly married woman was strangled to death in Rahuamani Ward No. 0-02 of Bangaon police station area. The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Bhavna Kumari, a resident of Bela Simri in Khagaria district. Bhavna was married to Golu Keshari, son of Vinod Keshari, a resident of Bangaon police station area, in May 2022 with Hindu customs. The family members of the deceased have alleged that her husband-Golu Keshari and father Vinod Keshari often used to harass Bhavna Kumari regarding the outstanding amount of dowry and pressure was being created.
The family members said that many times we urged Bhavna Kumari’s husband and father-in-law to pay the dowry balance of Rs 80,000 gradually, but her husband and father-in-law were not ready to accept and Bhavna Kumari was strangled to death.
