A young man who met on a dating app forced himself into physical relations with a student
New Delhi: A Delhi University student was allegedly sexually harassed by a man whom she met on dating app ‘Bumble’. A police officer gave this information on Thursday.
According to the police, a complaint was received from the girl that on January 17 this year, she had started talking to a man on Bumble app. A senior police officer said, “On October 18, he insisted on meeting her late at night. She initially refused due to the delay, but agreed to meet at a local tea shop.”
“The accused then took her to his residence in Basant Nagar, Delhi, at around 3 am in the morning and allegedly forcibly had physical relations with her,” the officer said. A case has been registered under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Gulabi Bagh police station.
