ASHA workers protest in Nallagonda

Asha workers protested under the auspices of CITU at Mandutenda near Nalgonda Clock Center on Friday. They tried to blockade the local minister’s office Indira Bhavan and sat there to press their demands. Speaking on the occasion, several leaders said that a fixed salary of Rs. 18,000 should be implemented immediately for Asha workers. They wanted to provide job security to Asha workers and recognize them as permanent employees. They wanted to allocate adequate funds under NHM to solve all the problems of Asha workers. They wanted to reduce the increasing workload on Asha workers and give additional allowances. They also wanted to apply the benefits of all welfare schemes implemented by the government to Asha workers.
The Telangana Asha Workers Union (CITU) Nalgonda District Committee has demanded that special honorarium be given to Asha workers who play a key role in the care of pregnant women and children, and that facilities like accident insurance, health insurance, and pension be provided. CITU District Secretary Salim, Dandampally Sathaiah, District Vice President Lakapaka Raju, Pinjarla Saidulu, Asha activist District President Maheshwari, Venkatamma, Sunitha, and CITU activists participated in the program.
