Baby trapped in borewell rescued, health condition stable
Sambalpur: In the latest update, the newborn baby rescued from a borewell in Odisha’s Sambalpur district is reportedly in stable health condition. At present a 10-member medical team is treating him.
The infant has been admitted to SNCU (Special Newborn Care Unit) at VIMSAR in Burla.
In a tragic incident that took place on December 12, an infant fell into a borewell in Odisha’s Sambalpur district. The incident occurred near Laripali village under Rengali police station limits. Earlier reports had claimed that the infant was deliberately thrown into the well as the well was located inside a nearby forest.
Hearing the crying sound of the baby, some local people reached the spot and immediately informed the police officials and fire department. The child was successfully rescued after an arduous eight-hour rescue operation. After which, he was immediately shifted to VIMSAR, Burla in Green Corridor for treatment.
