Balangir Anganwadi roof collapses, 3 children injured

Lathore/Balangir: At least three children were seriously injured when a piece of concrete fell from the roof of an Anganwadi center in Kurli village, Turekela block, Balangir district, on Tuesday. The incident occurred while the children were attending class inside the center. A portion of the roof suddenly collapsed, and the falling concrete struck the heads of two girls and a boy.
All three children suffered injuries to their heads, necks, and hands and were admitted to Kantabanji Hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be critical. According to locals, the Anganwadi building had been drenched by continuous rain for the past three days. Parents alleged that poor quality construction caused the concrete to fall from the roof. The incident sparked anger among parents and residents, who demanded a high-level investigation into the construction quality and accountability for the shortcomings.
