Bhubaneswar airport to expand air connectivity to 4 more Indian cities by New Year 2024
Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, is gearing up to enhance its air connectivity with four more Indian cities in the near future, as announced by Prasanna Pradhan, the Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA).
The forthcoming flight services from BPIA will offer travelers convenient access to Surat, Dehradun, Chandigarh, and Jammu, further solidifying the city’s status as a growing regional transportation hub. Pradhan confirmed that the groundwork for these services is already in progress.
Exciting developments await both travelers and residents, as the new terminal link building at BPIA is anticipated to become fully operational by the start of the New Year in 2024. To ensure a smooth and secure transition, airport authorities have initiated the process of obtaining security clearances for the new facility.
Furthermore, Pradhan mentioned that they will hold discussions with pertinent stakeholders, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Customs department, to formulate and implement a robust standard operating procedure (SOP) for the new terminal.
