BJP released the sixth list of candidates
New Delhi (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday released its sixth list of three candidates for Rajasthan, where elections are scheduled on November 25. Congress MLA from Bari Girraj Singh Malinga, who joined BJP on Sunday, has been fielded by the party from Bari.
Deepak Kadwasra will contest from Barmer and Arun Amra Ram Choudhary will contest from Pachpadra.
This list was shared by the party’s national general secretary Arun Singh on Monday morning.
On Sunday, supporters of former Rajasthan BJP president Arun Chaturvedi protested at the party headquarters in Jaipur after they were denied tickets when the party released another list of 15 candidates.
The party gave election ticket to Gopal Sharma from Civil Lines in place of Chaturvedi.
Union Minister and Jodhpur MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tried to pacify the protesters by talking to them.
On Sunday, supporters of BJP’s former Rajasthan unit president Ashok Parnami also protested when he was not given a ticket.
The party has fielded Ravi Nayyar in place of former MLA Parnami from Adarsh Nagar.
The protesting supporters allege that the party has banned BJP workers.
In another development, BJP expelled its Rajasthan unit leader Sandeep Dayama for his controversial remarks on the gurudwara.
The decision to expel Dayma was announced by Rajasthan BJP disciplinary committee chairman Omkar Singh Lakhawat.
The notification issued by the party on Sunday said, “Sandeep Dayma has been expelled from the party on the instructions of the state president for giving statements against the ideology of the party.”
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member House. Ashok Gehlot came to power with the support of BSP MLAs and independent MLAs.
Rajasthan will go to polls on November 25, with counting taking place on December 5 along with assembly elections in four other states. (ANI)
