Bodies of three minor boys drowned in Marve Creek recovered
Mumbai (IANS). BMC Disaster Control said on Monday that bodies of three minor boys who drowned in Marve Creek in Malad West have been recovered. The bodies of these boys were recovered in 28 hours under a major operation.
According to reports, the three minors were among five people who entered Marve Creek to clean themselves after playing beach football. He was trapped in the rising water around 9.45 am on Sunday. The BMC said two boys were safely rescued by local fishermen and police teams, while three went missing.
Despite bad weather conditions, a massive air and sea operation was launched to locate them. The three missing boys were pulled out of the water on Monday afternoon by the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Police, Indian Navy and fishermen.
The deceased have been identified as 13-year-old Nikhil S. Kayampur, 14-year-old Ajay Harijan and Shubham R. as Jaiswal. All of them lived in the Pererawadi compound in Marve village. Ajay’s elder brother Krishna Harijan and his friend Ankush survive. Both were rescued on Sunday afternoon.
