CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao alleged
Cherial : Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have colluded to limit his political activities and ensure that BRS does not expand to Maharashtra. Addressing an election rally, Rao alleged that the BJP-led central government has not sanctioned even a single medical college or Navodaya school for the state. Appealing to voters to vote in favor of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate, Rao said his party should be brought back to power to continue development. Chief Minister Rao is also known as KCR. Taking aim at both the national parties, Rao said, “Both the national parties (Congress and BJP) are scared of KCR. He feels that if he wins in Telangana, he will come to Maharashtra. About 150 panchayats in Maharashtra have passed resolutions requesting to merge the respective areas with Telangana.
He alleged that there is a secret agreement between the two parties not to field strong candidates against each other. He said, “If KCR loses in Telangana then they will feel safe. This is all going on.” Rao said his party’s meetings were getting good response from the people of Maharashtra. Listing the achievements of Telangana, Rao claimed that the state has overtaken Punjab with paddy production of three crore tonnes per year. He also asked people to compare the development of the state during the last ten years with the 50 years of Congress rule. He alleged that it was the Congress party which had merged Telangana and Andhra Pradesh without the consent of the people here, due to which they had to suffer for 50 years. Rao alleged, “The situation in Telangana was chaotic during the Congress rule. He never cared about it.
There was no facility of drinking water. Suicides occurred. It was the Congress party that had ruined Telangana.” He said it was his government which had increased the social pension to Rs 2,000 which was very low before 2014. Rao said the amount of social pension and Rythu Bandhu scheme (investment support scheme) would be gradually increased if the BRS government comes to power again. He said that Telangana is the only state in the country which does not levy irrigation water tax. Rao said that if Congress wins, power supply will be limited to only three hours instead of the current 24 hours.
